Niche (the Marketing Club)

The club aims to facilitate the understanding of marketing concepts amongst students interested in marketing by organizing various events and games. The club organizes lectures of working professionals, workshops, activities and management games with a view to up breast students with the critical issues and latest developments in marketing. The interaction with working professionals also help students in understanding the career opportunities and challenges in various areas like sales, advertising and brand management etc. The club developed some interesting activities; Chain-o-chain, Logo-login, Big Boss Calling to test the creative marketing skills in students.


CULTURAL COMMITTEEM

The Socio-cultural committee GHS-IMR has always showcased colossal talent amongst the budding managers. The aim of the committee is to provide umpteen opportunities to students to nurture their creativity & hobbies and portray their flairs and talents – their versatile self. With a rational mix of the faculty coordinators, the senior batch students, junior batch members the club organizes a plethora of creative activities like Fresher’s party, Bizz Buzz-the Business plan competition, Farewell party, Independence day celebration . Defining and truly abiding the mantra of secularism the club conducts Deepawali, Roza Iftaar ,New Year party , Basant Panchami at it campus. The Cultural committee at GHS- IMR is dedicated to create pleasing work-life balance for the students. It works towards the purpose of creating, reflecting and imparting culture, to let students discover their skills, identify their forte and hone theirtalents.
As a part of its endeavor socio-cultural club conducts varied activities as-Panache, Umang Tarang, Meri Awaaz Suno, Inventive ,Fresco, Nukkad under its perview at its flagship event KOSMOS. KOSMOS has definitely lived up to the vision of taking GHS-IMR to the next level of organizing events and to enter into the league of B Schools hosting prestigious annual management fest in every possible domain. The committee also acts as an interface between GHS-IMR and other B-schools, facilitating increasing inter B-school participation.

SPIC MAYCAY CLUB

GHSIMR has always believed in being rooted to its tradition and culture. In an effort to promote our rich heritage amongst the youth, GHS-IMR joins SPIC MACAY.” “Society for promotion of Indian Classical Music & Culture Amongst Youth” This was established by Dr. Kiran Seth in 1977 at IIT Delhi to foster the exchange of traditional Indian values and generate awareness of the cultural tradition among youth of this country. Our special guest on this special occasion Mrs Rani Khanam JI the only Muslim female classical dancer of Kathak. She stole the show with her immaculate movements and evocative facial gestures. Keeping up with the aim of introducing classical music and culture among the young managers- Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan seventh generation heir to the Sitar’s first family, the Etawah Gharana was invited on to give the youth a taste of instrumental music.

ACUMEN- Finance Club

The Finance Club of Dr Gaur Hari Singhania, Institute of Management & Research, Kanpur, popularly known as the ACUMEN is a student driven initiative that collaborates with both the corporate and academia from the financial sector to provide a platform for students to improve their quantitative and analytical thinking abilities. The club was launched on Aug 28th , 2010. Dr. V.V.L.N Sastry, Head of Investment Banking at First Call Research India, inaugurated the club. The club organizes activities to assist members in evaluating careers in finance and identifying current career opportunities, extend the practical finance education with job-specific knowledge and connect members with corporate life and other finance professionals. Some of the more popular activities include workshops, information sessions about careers/companies and virtual stock trading competitions.
The team at ACUMEN consists of a select few students driven by a common passion for finance. The team members are recruited through a comprehensive selection procedure.

The HR Club

'Titans' itself means Giant, A unit of HR Professionals, A unit of corporate managers, A unit of industry exposure started in 2004 a well established professional club of HR at GHSIMR. The purpose of group is to propagate the HR domain and to make people oriented to the human aspect of the organization and to manage the man effectively.
The club conducts meaningful activities, enabling the HR department groom potential corporate executive from among the students some of the activities conducted by the HR department along with this club are -Buzz World, HR Glossary Competition, Stress management workshop, Role plays, workshop on Neuro Linguistic Program, HR plan development, Case Development, Design and implementation of Training Programs and many guest lecturers / talk by experts.

This is an era of lT. To get an edge over others one should be "lT SAWY" irrespective of one's background and field of specialization. The lT Club propagates this message on the campus and infuses lT awareness & knowledge in the students.

ALUMNI COMMITTEE

The Alumni Committee, Galaxy, regularly organizes the functions, inviting well placed alumni and those who went on to emerge trend- setters in the corporate world. The committee keeps on organizing functions, get- together, experience sharing activities and Alumni meet. Alumni successful in corporate world are also invited as chief guests for the orientation programme. Galaxy now has an official website.

PLACEMENTCOMMITTEE

The Placement committee shoulders the responsibility of matching the career aspirations of the students with that of industries requirements. The committee is an excellent combination and example of teamwork and passion. The team synergizes well on cross functional skills to serve the varied interest of the students. They enjoy an excellent rapport with the students, and are abreast with currently relevant market insights. The team members including student representatives possess zeal to translate their thoughts into action. They constantly benchmark their processes with the best practices. No doubt that every student entering the portals of the institution covets of becoming a part of this elite team.

PGP COMMITTEE

The committee is the apex body for taking all decisions related to PGP program. The committee ensures a curriculum, which matches the best in the field and Continuously works on updating it.

SPORTSCOMMITIEE

The sport committee believes in developing the overall personality of a person. lt organizes inter college level tournaments, under 'KREEDA'.

Counseling Cell

Looking in to the counseling needs of our students the institute has set up Counseling Cell. An introductory session in this regard was taken by Dr. Alok Bajpai (MD Psychiatry) on 23th, July2011 where he said that counselor will listen to you and help you in gaining your own insights and making and acting on your own choices, enabling you to work towards relating and living in a more satisfying and resourceful way. Dr. Monika Srivastava Chair Counseling Cell encouraged the students to avail these services if they have any difficulties. The services are free and confidential. All the students who have any are having difficulties can avail our services. The services are free and confidential.
How to Availing the Services
For taking the Counseling sessions students can get appointment with Counselor from their respective student coordinators or consult respective faculty members of counseling cell. The Counsellor usually visits on Saturday so the request should reach by Thursday along with your time preference. Final counseling schedule is made on Friday and intimated to the students.
